It's not too late to join us in DC for the Passionate Pen!
Blushing Books, along with our sister company, Lazy Day is sponsoring a two day conference/workshop in Arlington, VA (just outside of Washington, DC) this weekend that's perfect for the aspiring writer, or for anyone who just wants to hang out, meet a bunch of published authors, and just have fun for a couple of days.
"The Passionate Pen" has two days of workshops on things like character development, editing, point of view, and marketing. They are offering four sessions a day for two days, so you have the opportunity to attend eight different workshops. While they are focusing on romance, writers of all genres will find plenty of value there.
We still have spaces available at the conference, and it's priced so that you can hardly afford not to come! If you attend with a roommate who is also attending the conference, you can get the two-day conference, plus Friday night at the Marriott Gateway hotel, for only $100 per person. (Without a roommate it's still only $175, and considering that includes the hotel, it's crazy not to do this.) There are other packages for more nights & we're also having a welcome reception tonight (Thursday), and an author's breakfast Sunday morning.
Recently, we were at the RWA (Romance Writers of America) conference in New York - that conference was $400 for just the conference and then $250.00 a night for hotel rooms!
The Marriott Gateway is a beautiful hotel, just a quick and easy metro ride to downtown D.C. There are tons of great restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.
The featured authors include New York Times Bestsellers Alexa Day and Ruth Silver, as well as multiple #1 Amazon Bestsellers, such as Breanna Hayse, Renee Rose, and Alta Hensley.
I realize this is rather "last minute" but if you're in the mid-Atlantic region & can easily get here, it would be a great & fun weekend for anyone thinking of starting a writing career...or anyone who loves romance and would like to come and meet some of your favorite authors and do a little site seeing.
If you want an opportunity to network with published authors and participate in panels and workshops that will really enhance your craft, please check out the website and consider attending The Passionate Pen! If you have any questions, please let me know, or you can email our conference coordinator, Bella Bryce, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
